In 1996, in conjunction with the Bible Society, the CMA published 5,000 copies of the “Manual for Life” – the Contemporary English Version of the New Testament part of the Bible presented for the biking community. It contained a section on where to find advice in the Bible on a range of subjects, plus testimonies from bikers. In 2005 there was a second print run of 4,000 copies, with updated testimonies and information.
In June 2007, in partnership with the Bible Society and “Bibles For The Nations”, the CMA produced a new pocket-sized “Biker Bible” – again, the New Testament in the Contemporary English Version. The CMA raised £18,000 and printed 10,000 copies in the first run – 24 testimonies, in full colour, graphics, with men and women from the European Biker World. This is the Word of Life in biker’s hands. This new “Biker Bible” was launched at the centenary Isle of Man TT, and, on that day alone, 393 bibles were given away.
An order for a further print run of 20,000 has recently been placed, twice the usual quantity, which will take the total number printed to 100.000. These Biker Bibles are given away free to bikers via shows, rallies, personal conversations, etc. The feedback has been superb - the distribution of this Bible has opened up new avenues for reaching bikers in the UK, and their families, with the love of God.
